BOLO - Dwayne Clark Helms

While the CMPD alert posted on X (below) and detailed on WCNC is helpful Dwayne Helms (aka Mike Smith) is normally bald headed.

Has served more than 13 yrs in prison and was most recently a Federal Prisoner and was given a break by having his sentence run concurrent to his NC prison sentence.

Lake Norman and Gaston County residents should pay attention as his appearance would fit in even around South Charlotte. This guy is bad news and needs to be cuffed and stuffed ASAP!

The wcnc 30 second news clip says wanted for breaking and entering but he has priors for kidnapping, assault, armed robbery, felony B&E, auto theft and more.

The ring doorbell camera showing him with a gun is enough to make this habitual felon a serious threat and he needs to be considered armed and dangerous and reacted to accordingly.

If you see this MOFO call 911.

Charlotte's 101st Homicide Taking Out The Trash

On Thursday November 28th Just before 6:30 p.m. CMPD Officers responded to a call for a welfare check in the 2300 block of West Boulevard. When Officers arrived they located a male subject who was unresponsive.

Medic transported the male to Atrium Main where they were pronounced deceased.

At first Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit classified this incident only as a death investigation.

Upon review of the physical evidence at the scene this case was determined to be a homicide.

The victim in this case was later identified as Demond Kente Dixon, 44 and victim’s family has was notified of his death.

According to CMPD, Belton Lamont Platt, 38, was identified as a person of interest shortly after Officers arrived on scene.

Mr. Platt was transported voluntarily to the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) in Uptown to speak to detectives. At the conclusion of the interview, Mr. Platt was transferred into the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and charged with Murder.

Dixon was a well known felon, thief and habitual criminal with more than 2 dozen convictions and more arrests than are worth taking the time to count.

Platt is also a convicted felon having just served 4 years for AWDWISI and having been released from prison this past July.

Platt has a history of arrests and convictions for weapons, drugs and violent crimes. His life is just one long rap sheet with crimes beginning with trying to burn down a school in 2002 to felon with a gun in in 2006.

Props to CMPD for taking out the trash. Eyes are now on Meck County DA Merriweather to complete the mission.

Once again proof that incarceration saves lives.

Post Thanksgiving Laugh!

Based on the comments some of y'all are just a little too tight maybe this not a true story will help.

I have two dogs Scout and Buddy and I was buying a large bag of Purina at Costco and standing in line at the check out.

A woman behind me asked if I had a dog.

On impulse, I told her that no, I was starting the Purina Diet again although I probably shouldn't because I'd ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care unit with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms.

I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry and that the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again.

I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was by now enthralled with my story, particularly a guy who was behind her.

Horrified, she asked if I'd ended up in the hospital in that condition because I had been poisoned. I told her no; I stepped off a curb to sniff a poodle's ass and a car hit me.

I thought one guy was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard as he staggered out the door.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Idiots Among Us Tamika Smyre

According to the local paper, a woman was charged with driving while impaired and without a license after police accused her of hitting and killing a pedestrian on Old Pineville Road in south Charlotte, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said Friday.

Officers found 39-year-old James Hines lying in the road with what appeared to be life-threatening injuries about 8 p.m. Wednesday, police said in a news release. MEDIC pronounced Hines dead at the scene, police said.

Police charged the driver, 45-year-old Tamika Smyre, with driving with a revoked license and possession of marijuana. Smyre was uninjured, police said. Smyre, who was driving a Lexus, was northbound in the 6100 block when Hines was hit, police said. Hines was in the lanes of travel wearing dark clothing, according to CMPD.

Smyre was released on an unsecured bond and is awaiting trial.

The local paper's reporting is comical but at least we know she was driving a Lexus. She was driving on a revoked license and an admitted drug user. This idiots are on Charlotte street  highways and there is nothing anyone can do to stop them.

But the problem is more than just the pathetic reporting from the local paper. This drug user was high as Jesus and killed a guy but was not charged as such.

She should not have been driving and she should be in jail. But in Charloot life is cheap and because Mr. Hines was a known low level criminal there will be no charges and Smyre will be driving just as soon as she gets her hands on the keys to a car.

Turmoil at Sheriff’s Office with slurs and staff shakeups

Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden is making changes to the agency’s leadership while apologizing for racially inflammatory statements about department employees.

McFadden apologized on Nov. 14 in a prerecorded video for racially charged language he used in an audio recording obtained by WBTV earlier this month.

Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden released a video on Nov. 14 apologizing for racially inflammatory statements he made about department employees. The Sheriff’s Office has undergone major staff changes in the last month with resignation of Chief Deputy Kevin Canty in October and firing human resources director Rudyne Pearson and business operations director Angelia Riggsbee earlier this month.

“It doesn’t matter who recorded or how many years ago it was recorded, today I want to apologize for that language,” McFadden said in the video. “Held to a higher standard, that’s the office of the sheriff. But you must understand that I am human, and I am not perfect, and I will make mistakes.”

In the recording, McFadden can be heard using bigoted language in describing Black and white people on his executive staff. He called a white captain a “cracker,” and an epithet to describe former chief deputy Rodney Collins, who is Black.

The North Carolina Sheriffs Association, which represents the state’s 100 sheriffs, issued a statement condemning McFadden’s language, adding that its executive committee voted to inquire into his conduct.

McFadden fired two executive staff members – human resources director Rudyne Pearson, a five-year employee of the Sheriff’s Office, and business operations director Angelia Riggsbee earlier this month. Riggsbee was hired in March.

Both women who were terminated reported directly to Chief Deputy Kevin Canty, who resigned in October with a letter accusing McFadden of fostering a toxic work environment. In an interview with WBTV, Canty said McFadden pushed him to fire Riggsbee but Canty refused, telling McFadden it was without merit.

Deputy Canty's resignation letter is here.

“He told me that I could recommend it, which of course he doesn’t need that to fire anyone,” Canty told the station. “He was wanting me to be his hatchet man and to use me as a scapegoat to treat people unfairly.”

McFadden announced a series of appointments, including Christopher Allen as interim chief deputy and Shelby Jones as chief of staff.

“I am confident these leadership changes will bring the vision, integrity, and experience that’s needed to help the agency move forward,” McFadden said. “MCSO is poised to make significant strides for the future of our agency and the communities we serve. This is the beginning of a new chapter we will all work together to write.”

The staff additions are effective immediately.

Allen, who joined MCSO from the Union County Sheriff’s Office earlier this year, was chief of staff. He has more than 20 years of law enforcement experience.

Jones was McFadden’s first hire upon taking office in 2018 as executive assistant.

Shanta Williams is the new interim director of human resources while the agency conducts a search for a permanent director. Williams, who has been the Sheriff’s Office for almost 25 years, started as a fiscal analyst in business management and most recently was a human resources consultant.

Andrey Melkonyan was promoted to director of business operations. Melkonyan, who was hired in 2008, was accounting supervisor.

Cedar's Take:

The preceding is from the Charlotte Post on Sunday November 17th.

It is time for a change in command as even the Charlotte Post has a loss of confidence in his ability to command.
