Three shootings since Christmas brings an abrupt closure to Apple's iPhone store at Northlake Mall.
Charlotte's famed and defamed "HoodMall" has become a "black meca" in recent years attracting crowds of African American teens, thugs and hoodrats forcing stores to vacate and CMPD to ramp up patrols.
And now another retailer has had enough:
Northlake Mall is the premier retail destination for the thriving affluent communities in the North Charlotte metropolitan area. Dillard’s, Macy’s, Belk, AMC’s 14-screen cinema, plus 140 retailers and restaurants make Northlake Mall a popular lifestyle destination. The friendly and comfortable environment also features an interactive Play Area, a Coffee Court, a sports court and free Wi-Fi.
Spend the day shopping, dining, and enjoying a movie. Northlake Mall’s retail offerings feature an assortment of merchandise to suit every taste. Retailers include Apple, Dry Goods, DTLR, Forever 21, H&M, Finish Line, and Soma. No way I'm woking Northlake it is a total waste of energy and every suspect you cuff and stuff scream I can't breathe - Cedar calling it a Black Meca is rich since they only way you would have that impression would to have actually been there on a Saturday night - yep not a white person in sight after 5.
ReplyDeleteEastland 2.0. The hood rats forced the shutdown of that property and now they are working on Northlake. No one in their right mind would take their family to this "Premier Lifestyle Destination".
ReplyDeleteUptown is the same way Cedar. It is hard for me to want to go to a Panthers game or Knights Baseball. I tell people you see a black teen you best assume they have a gun.

Northlake was hung out to dry when the Red Line wasn’t approved. It could have been a transit hub. Instead it is the oasis in a gentrified county where residents are stuck in rentals and student loan debt. Mecklenburg needs reparations and Infrastructure spending, then places like NL can prosper.

DeleteJJ’s CRT training would suggest that this mall is at a disadvantage since our social constructs have made it harder for Apple store and Macys to make $$$ and stay open for the black people. Let’s give them money from our paychecks to help them.

DeleteCFD can’t get anywhere CLOSE to the thousands that used to apply. They were lucky to get close to 400 for the last exam, even after begging, dropping requirements, lowering standards, etc. They even opened it up to lateral transfers which has NEVER been done. They’re not recruiting, they are targeting. They will just about take the homeless that roams around that place. The majority of people who’ve been there 10-15 years can’t wait to be eligible to retire. Those even close are projecting or leave early. Piss poor leadership=poor morale and lack of interest. But, at least they fired the driver who was drunk and responded to calls on duty. So, there’s that. Small steps. Now, what to do with the 4 EMT’s that stood around and watched that man die last year. They’re probably done counting toliet paper and pens. Bet me nothing happens, why is nobody marching??

DeleteThe Fire Chief, is the City Manager’s puppet, with his hand up his ass working his mouth. The Fire Chief is NO LEADER. He is a coat tail rider. Copy and paste policy from Fairfax. Once the City Manager leaves/fired, the Fire Chief will leave just prior or SOON after. The Fire Chief has never commanded a fire nor will he assume command in risk of showing he’s a dumb ass. Anything he touches he fucks up like a soup sandwich. There are individuals within the department that could shit him a brain and are FAR more respected and knowledgeable. All the committees give the “illusion of input” when the decisions have already been made prior to the committee formation. You can have any fire truck as long as it’s red and from Pierce. If anyone thinks CFD, CMPD, etc gives a shit about rank and file, you need to be drug tested. You must be drinking the Kool-Aid. It’s purple, and tastes like delusion. I’ll bet anyone the Fire Chief is gone by end of the year.

ReplyDeleteWhy the F*** would you go to a mall to begin wiht, there can’t be that many people shopping from store to store… most people only go to one store (like the Apple Store) and they can go to one of those that is free standing or at best in a small strip mall and not deal with the typical mall patrons that aren’t there to spend money anyhow, they are there just to be seen showing their ass…
