The death of 15 year old Ella Lukse hits hard. Raintree is where I grew up. This is where my parents raised four children and lived from the time Raintree was developed until 2020, and this is madness. It was once a safe and attractive neighborhood.
Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, September 5, 2023) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Major Crash Investigation Unit are investigating a serious injury motor vehicle crash in the South Division.
On Sunday, September 3, 2023, at approximately 8:57 p.m., South Division officers responded to a motor vehicle collision with injuries in the 8200 block of Raintree Lane. Upon arrival, officers located a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee overturned and a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta badly damaged in the roadway. MEDIC responded to the scene and transported two passengers from the Jeep and both occupants of the Volkswagen to Atrium Health Main due to their injuries. The driver of the Jeep, Gorden Ware Fleming, IV (DOB: 10/09/2005), was uninjured and remained on scene.
Detectives with the Major Crash Investigation Unit, DWI Task Force, and Crime Scene Search responded to the scene to conduct their investigation. The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of the Jeep was traveling south on Raintree Lane when his jeep struck the right side of the Volkswagen driven by Tokla Parker Chhem, Jr. (DOB: 04/25/2007). The impact of the crash caused the Jeep to overturn and the Volkswagen to go off of the roadway and into a tree. A 15-year-old passenger in the Volkswagen suffered severe, life-threatening injuries.
Excessive speed is believed to be a factor. Mr. Fleming was found not to be impaired but had consumed alcohol prior to the collision. He was arrested and charged with Driving After Consuming Under 21 and Reckless Driving. Additional charges could be forthcoming pending the result of the continued investigation.
The investigation into this crash is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office. Cedar's Take: As I have said this is madness. We have become a lawless society with kids raised by parents who are utter failures at teaching integrity, honesty and responsibility.
No family should have to endure this.
When we were kids Raintree was a safe place. My brothers and sister and I felt safe, except some little guy named Mick Mulvaney who followed my sister around like a lost puppy. And Peter Pappas who was an annoying little kid who liked to play golf and drove us older kids working in the pro shop crazy when he'd lose a pitching wedge on the course. And Chip Sella whose father was the CEO of Fortune 500 company American Cyanamid. We were well off kids from six figure income families, but we didn't act like entitled brats. We were not always angels but we understood that our actions had consequences. We obeyed traffic laws and took driving seriously. I could give you a dozen names of families that raised their kids in Raintree and nothing like this ever happened. Now its just heartbreaking madness.
The little shit needs to spend the next ten in the real prison being Bubba's cell mate.
ReplyDeleteJust heartbreaking.
ReplyDeleteGiven the lack of traffic enforcement by NC SHP and CMPD I'm surprised this hasn't happened before.
ReplyDeleteGimme a break! Lack of traffic enforcement? Place the blame where it belongs. If we were in your neighborhood you would be complaining about how we are harassing ya.
DeleteHe was doing close to 70! And had a reputation for driving recklessly. Ella's funeral was today. We are not safe on our own streets.
ReplyDeleteTypical white people..this shit happens every day in the hood.
ReplyDeleteAnd nobody cares there either. Stay home.
DeleteThugs and Hood Rats have an excuse no daddy at home hoe mamma has five different baby's daddies no example poor Tyrone wasn't even house broken until he was 5. There is no excuse that this white participation trophy puke should live outside of prison walls.
ReplyDeleteNow, be nice. The County needs to rehabilitate this young man so he can be productive adult in the future.
DeleteBitch fuk you and your views. Rehab doesn’t work without pain and blood.
DeleteWhat a dumb fckin comment
DeleteWe have seen a lot of this lately. So much for Vision Zero.
ReplyDeleteHey, have any Metro goons violated anybody’s rights lately?
ReplyDeleteNigga, have you sucked a dick, lately? We do what we do around here. Laws are just a thought or philosophy. This place is so much better since we dropped our dead weight and can focus on what’s important around here. I love what I do.
DeleteI hope you have your PBA attorney ready, dumbass.
DeleteI'm sure the kid's parents think it wasn't his fault. Does anyone know what the speed was posted as?
ReplyDeleteSo how fast was he going? Anyone of those hiddy hole boys doing any work in South?
ReplyDeleteDispatch: Sarge, we have a robbery in progress. Can you start out there until I find some units?
ReplyDeleteSgt: Negative
Dispatch: We don’t have any units available, though?
Sgt: 10-4
Dispatch: So you are 17?
Sgt: Negative
I heard the dumbass was going 65 and the speed limit is 25. Considering Lt Blow is over patrol out there it would be wise to get in your hidey hole and stay there
ReplyDeleteYou would all come here if Saunders and Blow let you transfer to South. Stop being haters and go help a black or Mexican person.
DeleteBlow is an idiot. Always has been.
DeleteAsk Blow about the time he sexually harassed Eric Brady. Got sent to Metro over that one 😆
DeleteOr when he got kicked out of Federal Court for lying !
DeleteI doubt that anyone of substance or common sense is going to complain about some level of traffic enforcement in South as currently there is zero. If they do let them bitch. Speaking of bitches you lazy bums in South need to rotate up to central or hickory once an a while wouldn't want you to get fat down there parked at Showmars.
ReplyDeleteSouth is just like the airport without the planes.
ReplyDeleteWill you motherfuckas shut up and do your jobs like the rest of us?
ReplyDeleteYou can tell the way people drive there is no consequence for speeding or running redlights in Charlotte. And this is the result.
ReplyDeleteEveryone knows the cops don’t care around here. Putney set that trend of not caring about the public.
