When officers arrived on scene, they located a damaged dirt bike and an unresponsive rider, Jermaine Holly, 18, in the roadway. Nearby was a damaged Toyota SUV.

MEDIC transported Mr. Holly to Atrium Health where he was pronounced deceased.

Initial investigation by the CMPD Major Crash Investigation Unit indicates Mr. Holly operating a dirt bike without lights on Brookshire Boulevard when he struck a Toyota SUV that was turning onto Oakdale Road. Mr. Holly was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The driver of the Toyota, Marlen Morrow, 52, was uninjured and was not impaired.

Mr. Holly’s next of kin has been notified of his death.

    2. It’s not sad at all. They like being morons causing it to be a nightmare to live or even commute through Charlotte and are worthless degenerates. Wish more of them would die sooner. Charlotte would be a better place

    3. I say that about the trash bikers we have over there in Freedom Division. Sounds like that dispatcher burned y’all at her exit. The list of names is funny.😆

  9. So it’s been a while since Brent killed himself. I have to ask why a police officer would kill themselves? What did he do and what drove him to death? Did he have psychosis or drug in the system? Were there previous signs of this coming?

    1. Lack of faith and god can lead people towards dark choices. Narcotics and burn out can also drain a mind into poor choices and suicide. Find love in your life and know that the only way to paradise is Jesus through penance.

    2. I’ve thought about going through with it myself. The way I look at it sometimes, my life feels like hell. The bible says if I take my own life I will end up in hell. Might as well end this hell and just deal with the eventual hell.

    5. Still on about Brent?? You're asking the wrong questions. A "police officer" didn't kill himself. A human being killed himself. Humans have all sorts of reasons that make them sad, depressed, anxious, etc. Maybe he had depression? Maybe he had guilt over something? Who knows. But celebrities, kids, elderly, poor people, you name it...even police officers kill themselves. Stop acting completely shocked as if no one has ever taken their own life. Instead, be an understanding and empathetic ear to the people around you who need to get something off their chest...otherwise you'll continue to be bewildered that certain professions would do such a thing.

    6. 1559: we just had 4 more kill themselves in Texas this month. That why we need to discuss faith and love as treatment for these people. No family should have to feel that pain. Answers are necessary to save future officers.

    10. Bottom line..if someone has a gun then you need to do a better job of oversight and regulation of them. Too many officers are making bad decisions, so better controls need to be in place.

  12. If Charlotte had fair, affordable and accessible transportation and housing, this tragedy would never have occurred. We need a mass transit moonshot to transform Charlotte. Gov Stein needs to take note and help us make CATS the envy of the world.

    1. This poor boy is another victim of our nation’s climate crisis. We drive cars when we grew up because we could afford gas and tires. Today, those resources are so valuable these children have to resort to dirt bikes. Shame on the GOP for burying their heads at this existential crisis.

    2. If Charlotte had better lit streets, the other driver would have been able to see the blacked out bike better. Gov. Stein should increase taxes so additional streetlights are installed. No young man should have to worry about speeding on his dirtbike on a public street at night with no lights on!

    5. 12:09 brotherhood or not those officers messed up . They should have called medic, boo hoo they would have to had spent a little more time with him instead of getting the paperwork done quickly so patrol could transport. Just imagine if they called medic those five officers would still be employed today

    6. The roast needs to be about the shit show involving decisions being made on scene that ultimately put people at risk. Directing officers in positions of potential cross-fire, turning off lights to the rear of the building, while a spotlight was pointed almost directly at an officer holding the rear, the nearly complete lack of communication or coordination. Dispatch was on the phone WITH someone inside the house and it wasn't communicated with the clowns on scene until they asked. The best comedy writers in Hollywood couldn't think this stuff up.
