Every Case Dismissed

Swake LaJuan Michael McCorey Photo Courtesy of MCSO

Swake McCorey was arrested again on Saturday night, September 7, 2025 and charged with:

FLEE/ELUDE ARREST W/MV (F)

DWLR NOT IMPAIRED REV

RECKLESS DRIVING TO ENDANGER

HIT/RUN LEAVE SCENE PROP DAM

RESISTING PUBLIC OFFICER

FAIL TO HEED LIGHT OR SIREN

SPEEDING 130/55

FAIL TO BURN HEADLAMPS

IMPROPER PASSING ON RIGHT

POSSESS STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLE

PWISD MARIJUANA

FLEE/ELUDE ARREST W/MV (F)

CARRYING CONCEALED GUN (F)

Needless to say this is not his first rodeo

But every single prior arrest has resulted in zero convictions.

Every one of his prior criminal cases that has made it into a courtroom was dismissed by the Mecklenburg County DA.

His bail has often been unsecured, never more than $1,000.00 and only once did he spend more than a few hours in jail.

That changed Saturday night when his bail was denied. He'll have a court hearing at 10:00 am on Monday. If he is granted bail I'd be surprised if it is more a $5,000.00.

Cedar Posts Update:

This morning Liberal Judge Fritz Mercer set this career criminal's bail at only $3,500.00 but did order electronic monitoring and a 6 to 6 curfew.

Cedar Posts Update:

The clerk of court finally updated the bond set by Judge Mercer.

5000 on the expired tag, weapon and weed
10000 on the stolen car, weapon, flee and elude
5000 on the weed, resisting, flee and elude and reckless driving

That's $20,0000 of which about $860 should get him out the door. Maybe a little more since he has a habit of failing to appear.

Where is he now? Find out right here.

  3. I only come here for the comments.

The stories are always the same shit with the same criminals.

It’s pathetic what CMPD and CFD have become over the years. It’s going to a zoo and watching animals do funny things.

  4. Like Gomer Pyle would say ,Surprise,Surprise,Surprise!!! It's a shame this is the norm instead of the exception. The judicial system has always been the weak link.

  5. The lite rail suspect will be prosecuted for no ticket to ride the lite rail.He will never stand trail for the murder,he will be admitted to a mental facility until he is judged sane which will be many years down the road if EVER.The path to justice is seldom straight ,but a mixture of dead ends,detours,cul-de-sacs,wrong turns, and toll roads. At the end of the road you will observe a huge that explains it all in very simple terms and it goes like this NO EXIT,the end.

  6. Any truth to the online sleuths who say the magistrate with the JD but not a bar member was releasing people to the custody of her own mental health company for evaluation?

How fast can you scream Medicaid fraud on this?

  7. Look at this!!! It takes a US rep from FLA to introduce legislation to hold judges accountable for releasing violent criminals as a result of the light rail murder in Charlotte. He's calling out the 12 NC judges that released Decarlos Brown Jr. I hope it passes. If it makes it to the senate, you can bet Tillis would vote against it.

    1. Imagine being a corp recruiter for Charloot today. Explaining that Ballantyne really isn’t connected to Cats, and it’s safe (if you stay on the campus, live in SC or Union County and don’t go downtown)
      Goodbye jobs, thanks Vi!

  9. Cedar you deserve all the credit for getting all of the repeat offender dismissals out there!! Josh Stein just blamed the light rail murder on needing more money for CMPD staffing. You can not make this stuff up. Does Stein thinks everyone is stupid?

  10. In Decarlos defense, he’s obviously mentally deficient. Look at the damn Hugo Hornet ink on his throat. Whoever did that needs to be jailed as well for not turning him in to Butner. Shinn’s gay drugged out son wasn’t even dumb enough to get one of those.

    1. He had the mental clarity to say "I got that white girl" after the attack. So he knew what he was doing.

    2. Sounds like a hate crime. Feds need to prosecute his ass

  11. This dude fled from a traffic stop of mine about 5 years ago, and then attempted to report his vehicle stolen 30 minutes later. He was arrested, but our piece of shit DA office dismissed the case without even reaching out to the officers over the case. A flee to elude conviction should result in mandatory prison time.

  12. Good news is, there’s zero chance of and Fed funding going to Cats this admin. Bad news is, your taxes are going to have to make up that gap now.
    Flee while you can!

  13. I thought it was being put on the ballot for a vote to increase taxes for the choo-choo. Of course the uptown arena was voted on and defeated but still was built so go figure.

  14. You can hire more “police” but they don’t do their jobs. They just stand around and sleep in cars. The stats don’t match the staffing, and this has become a welfare check. Hire 100 more cops??? Where??? Who is good and worth it???
