Why Do We Continue to Live Like This in Charlotte?


DAILYN KEVIN YOUNG age 23 shot a man in the head on June 7, 2026 while driving a stolen car on I-485 in South Charlotte in the middle of the day. And then he went about his life as if it was no big deal. As Young saw it nothing ever happens to him. There are no consequences ever. So why should he stop being a thug? The replay: On 08/13/2019 he was arrested and charged with 01. INJURY TO PERSONAL PROPERTY (2912) Those charges were DISMISSED. Charged in 2023 with 1. MISDEMEANOR LARCENY 2. ASSAULT ON A FEMALE Never arrested On 02/02/2024 he was arrested and charged with 1. ASSAULT ON A FEMALE Those charges were DISMISSED On 04/14/2024 he was arrested and charged with 1. ASSAULT BY STRANGULATION 2. FELONY LARCENY 3. MISD CRIME OF DOM VIOLENCE 4. INJURY TO PERSONAL PROPERTY 5. FALSE IMPRISONMENT 6. COMMUNICATING THREATS 7. ASSAULT ON A FEMALE Those charges were DISMISSED On 11/15/2025 he was arrested and charged with 1. ASSAULT ON A FEMALE 2. INTERFERE EMERG COMMUNICATION Those charges were DISMISSED On 01/28/2026 he was charged with 1. ASSAULT BY POINTING A GUN 2. ASSAULT ON A FEMALE 3. MISD CRIME OF DOM VIOLENC 4. COMMUNICATING THREATS And was never arrested. Then between April 29 and May 3, 2026 a car was stolen in Huntersville, the same car that Young was driving on I-485 when he tried to murder a motorist. He goes on to drive the same car without fear knowing if he's arrested nothing will happen to him. Even when CMPD attempts to stop him in the stolen car he drives away and the police let him. Another 2 weeks go by before he crashes and CMPD Officers finally cuffed and stuffed him. These are only the crimes we know of, not the one's he committed and hasn't been connected to.

This violent POS ran around Charlotte for nearly two months with not a care in the world. Why do we live like this?

If you ask most of Charlotte doesn't want rehabilitation, or alternative sentencing. While they believe in second chances they also believe in protecting innocent citizens.

Unfortunately there are some people who must be simply removed from society. A hundred years ago a rope was a simple solution today permeant incarceration is the answer.

    I am refraining from judgement. All of these cases were dropped for a reason. Where is the video evidence? We are told cameras film everything on 485 at all hours. Plenty of dash cams out there. CMPD makes more mistakes than can be counted, which is why the DA has to dismiss so many cases.

    It's easy to dog pile a proud man who has had a bad run of luck, but I will let the courts decide his fate, not my human judgement.

    The DA looks to dismiss not try cases…. Everyone knew once Spence got in the position the outcome would result in young black males getting a get out of jail card in Mecklenburg County.

      No one goes to Charlotte because of the double standards for blacks. The DA said he got kicked in the ribs by a cop when he was in college. Then these CMPD retards are friends with him on Facebook.

      What’s scary is when Chief Patterson goes on a talk show and discusses how the new officers don’t communicate verbally and need communication from their phones. How did you hire these people then? She needs to think about things before saying them.

      They portray police as relatable mommas boys that could be your best buddy. You don’t want a person like that backing you up on serious incidents in Charlotte. We need the excellence of execution at CMPD.

      Patterson is trying to mimic old Monroe’s ways. Im already wishing the next 3 years will go by soon so wont have to deal with nonsense much longer. I just wished they hired someone with no ties to CMPD.
