Man was stabbed aboard a Charlotte Lynx Blue Line just hours after new police chief Stella Patterson was sworn in and returned to her former department to head up CMPD.
The stabbing occurred near North Brevard Street and East 22nd Street, where the train appeared to have stopped between stations. Police responded to the scene, and crime scene tape was observed inside the train.
Officers have arrested a suspect possible Hispanic male. Victim was transported to an area hospital no word on his condition.
Eyewitness account:
Yeah, the whole shit happened in front of me.
Drunk Mexican stabbed the young black dude in the heart.
Mexican was yelling at everybody, acting fake tough since Scaleybark.
Person behind me checked him then Dread Head checked him. Like shut the fuck up it’s kids on here, plus nobody tryna hear that.
A few stops go by. By ninth Street he took us swig of his box then walked up to the Dread Head they stand off then he pulled out a hunting knife. Stabbed him, Dread Head rushed to the opposite end of the train. People gave help and alerted the driver to stop.
We all wait seven minutes for the police. He dropped a knife, ask us to hold it then picked it up, left his bike and grabbed the emergency latch to run away.
Victim was throwing up, bleeding, heavy when he got stretched.
Cops caught stabber on the other side of the apartments.
He was asking people for rides.

Interesting…they both have mug shots. The light rail should be renamed as The Felon Freeway
ReplyDeleteI'm going to guess neither paid a fare. I don't have any idea why I would think that.
ReplyDeleteAnd we all know that when you pay for a ticket then magically you can no longer commit a crime…
DeleteYou got a point there.
DeleteWe need police on the light rails. Put Bryley on the train as her job.
ReplyDeleteKay
Stella wants to improve perception of crime, so let’s start with 485 and the light rail.
ReplyDeleteI won’t ride the train until CMPd puts a cop on the train. WTF
ReplyDeleteWTF is right! I guess CATS is just working on a hat-trick. Do better Charlotte…
DeleteBet the black guy was trying to rob the Mexican and it went wrong.
ReplyDeleteMarcus Jones said all the off duty jobs at the tracks were “subscribed” by CMPD. Is he a liar?
ReplyDeleteWhen you build a bunch of apartments around the train, and then allow poor people to live there.
ReplyDeleteUnarmed black man is stabbed on a train the mayor promised would have security. How arw you guys handling the BLM protests and riots going on?
ReplyDeleteFestive and safe atmosphere. Can’t wait to send my kids up to UNCC on the train and go to work in the peace of my NPR pod on my headphones. Maybe stop at Whole Foods for some dinner prep items before going home. The weekends bring excitement and culture downtown with cheap and efficient transit.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte really is such a great place compared to where we moved from.
How are things going in Afghanistan?
DeleteI rode the train to work in Southend today. It was full of blacks complaining about tickets. One black girl said she ripped up her ticket in front of the lady cop. Where are these people riding towards or going places?
ReplyDeleteIt’s cold out. Why not ride the rides and get up to Sugar Creek?
DeleteWere you feeling lucky today to take the train? I mean 2 stabbing in a few months, at some point an uber becomes a better bet.
Keep that head on a swivel. Charlotte leadership obviously doesn’t care if you make it to work or back.
Patterson doing what she do best..charity work and photo shoots. Meanwhile, we need 100 patrol officers and a round up for safety purposes. There were shots fired at the premium outlets this weekend.
ReplyDeleteMofo scratched my Altima putting bags in her car. I had to blast a few off in her direction to she her who boss
Delete3:05-she left Raleigh on bad terms and all she can do is play the part, just like her husband. Neither one should have been promoted to any leadership position. Please refer to the Peter Principle.
DeleteMcFadden seems to be talking out of both sides of his mouth now.
ReplyDelete12:24-He might be forced to do his job. God forbid he to anything other than rap videos and PR Campaigns.
DeleteHey he walked in the parade!
DeleteNice ride to work on an empty light rail today. There were no cops at the stations the whole way. It felt so luxurious riding in an empty train worth millions.
ReplyDeleteWouldn’t it make sense to hire 3 bouncers to ride the train? I guess the ticket revenue doesnt generate the business value for security. You can’t operate a business without safety as per OSHA law. The federal admin may have to take action until adjustments are put into place.
Delete3 million to PR campaign, but not 20/hour for security guards.
Deletewtf is Garry doing. Can’t these losers keep their mouths shut for one day to get Charlotte out of the news. Sympathy for the magistrates? Seriously
ReplyDeleteWhen the concern for "Residents" in "Housing" outweighs that of victims then we know we're in deep shit. This is where our leaders have failed miserably.
DeleteThey arrest you if you protect yourself with a gun on the light rails.
ReplyDeletePretty simple: if you value your sanity, your wallet, or your pulse, skip Charlotte’s “public transportation.”
DeleteYou’ve got the Transit Homeless Shelter Uptown, where you can enjoy the full immersive experience of being aggressively yelled at before 8 AM.
Then there are the buses. Filthy doesn’t quite capture it, but “biohazard on wheels” felt a little too on-the-nose.
And of course, the Felony Light Rail, Charlotte’s high-speed tour of “please don’t make eye contact.”
Take a car, walk, crawl, honestly any option beats playing crime roulette with CATS.
So here is my thing..why do they arrest good people, but then act dumb to the drug deals and violence around the city?
ReplyDeleteWhen’s the last time you saw anyone in this city witness a drug deal, especially in court. It’s not happening, da knows it and just drops every charge. When the people accept their hood being taken over, you just gotta go with it.
DeleteAnother day another murder in the park. We noticed something funny at the office. The jail intake is incorrectly charging BM and HM as WM. Does that affect our reporting to the fed?
ReplyDeleteHelol yeah… arrest and incident report data is never quality controlled, ain’t worth a damn for any real statistical use. Check out the police crime stats unit then you’ll really worry
