Mint Hill Officer Involved Shooting

According to News Media reports - A man was killed, and two officers were hurt in a shooting at a busy Mint Hill shopping center on Friday morning.

On December 26, 2025, at approximately 10:47 a.m., Mint Hill Police officers responded to Edible Arrangements, located at 6832 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, regarding a child custody exchange.

During the interaction, the male subject produced a firearm. An exchange of gunfire occurred, and two Mint Hill Police officers were struck.

Both officers where transported and are currently in stabled condition.

The unnamed male subject was shot and was determined deceased at the scene.

Unconfirmed Sources tell CP that the "prearranged" custody transfer was supposed to happen at 9 AM and a call for service was placed by either the former spouse or passerby. As is normal procedure two officers were dispatched to what was described as a domestic argument over custody.

Shortly after arriving on scene the suspect engaged officers with a firearm without warning. Both officers were stuck and one was able to return fire and call for aid.

Cedar Notes: The above is from sources believed to be reliable but not confirmed by MHPD or NC SBI. Will be updated as the story evolves. Grateful that both officers are in stable condition and may be released as soon as today Saturday December 27th. The name of the deceased has not been released.

More: Some reports have the Officers entering the Edible Arrangements store then quickly exiting the storefront helping each other one obviously wounded. Based on nothing more than random sources the Officer encounters the suspect inside the store upon seeing the Officers he began firing at both Officers who returned fire. It is not clear if dispatch was aware of a weapon or not.

East Charlotte House of Horrors

On December 16 at 7:40 detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit began conducting a death investigation in the 7608 Gwynne Hill Road in the Hickory Grove Division.

The victim was later identified as six year old Dominique Moody.

The home that appears to be owned by Stephanie Leasure who lives in Matthews, North Carolina.

This is how CMPD Detectives described the living conditions:

7608 Gwynne Hill Road is 3-bedroom one bathroom residence. The residence was extremely unkempt, with strong odor of feces and urine. The residence was cluttered, and numerous rats were scurrying through it. The residence had mixture of animal and human feces throughout. Several holes leading to the exterior of the residence were also located in the floor and ceiling. The residence had no centralized heat. The oven in the kitchen, space heater in the living room, and space heater in bedroom were the only sources of heat.

The space heater in the living room sat on concrete block on the floor, pointed towards cot in front of the couch. The heater was approximately feet from the cot. The low temperature during overnight hours was 20 degrees.

The injuries to the child were described as a healed ligature mark around the right ankle. The left ankle had an open wound, which is believed to be burn, and could have occurred postmortem. A healed circular scar on the top of the right foot is believed to be healed liquid burn scar. The victim had fracture to the right pinky toe, which was older and healed. The victim also had posterior lower rib fractures (ribs 7-9) on the left side, and two posterior lower rib fractures (ribs 9-10) on the right side. These fractures were newer, but in various states of healing.

As a result of continued investigation, detectives identified multiple adults and other children who resided at this residence. The children ages 1,2,4 and 6 were transferred to the custody of DHHS Child Protective Services.

3 days after the death of the child CMPD executed a search warrant at the residence.

Juvenile KMB DOB 10/09/2023

Juvenile KMT DOB 11/14/2024

Juvenile DM DOB 12/03/2019

Forensic investigators interviewed the juvenile occupants of the residence who were able to speak. The juveniles described Dominique Moody as being forced to live in small enclosure inside the residence by Tonya McKnight, often being bound with black tape, and being struck with white belt. They further advised that when Dominique was found not breathing, she was placed in front of the kitchen stove to warm her up and bring her back to life. She advised that the dog crate was destroyed with hammer and thrown in the garbage can.

On 12/19/2025, search warrant was served at 7608 Gwynne Hill Road. Officers located items of evidence corroborating the forensic interviews.

Susan Robinson arrived at the residence. Susan Robinson was interviewed, and the contents of her phone were obtained. The cellphone showed communications with Tonya McKnight from Friday, November 28th, 2025, at 3:15 PM. The picture showed the victim, duct taped with black duct tape, her hands and feet swollen, lying on the carpeted area of the living room. She advised that Tonya McKnight duct tapes Dominique Moody as punishment for many things, including stealing food. She suggested that Dominique Moody is forced to watchthem eat, and Tonya McKnight does not feed her every day, even though the house has plenty of food. She also advised that Dominique Moody is forced to sit in her soiled, urine and feces-filled diaper for days and days. This caused the extreme rash on Dominique's genitals and buttocks. This abuse/neglect was reported to have occurred for approximately 1.5 years.

Susan Robinson advised that Dominique is also forced to stay in dog crate in the living room. Dominique broke this dog crate several months ago and, since then, has been moved to sleep on the feces-filled bathroom floor.

Susan Robinson advised that Tonya McKnight leave her children with her and Tery'n McKnight regularly. Oftentimes, without telling them, she leaves the residence. Susan advised that she and Tery'n McKnight are responsible for the children, alone, multiple times month. Susan advised that she has seen Dominique Moody, duct taped, left without food, in soiled diapers, for days, and refused to assist, call 911, or report that abuse and neglect.

The children in the residence call Susan Auntie, and she admittedly provides care and supervision to them and sees and interacts with them daily, living in the residence.

Tery'n McKnight, Susan Robinson, and Tonya McKnight live in the residence and are the primary caregivers of the five children. The unkempt and inhospitable state of the residence, the children residing amongst rats and cockroaches, the children being bitten by rats, the residence's daily lack of heat, and the duct taping are well known to all three individuals.

Tery'n McKnight and Susan Robinson's failure to take any action to remedy the problems caused by Tonya McKnight shows reckless disregard for Dominique Moody's life, which ultimately caused her serious injuries, including the wounds from the rash on her genitals and buttocks, broken bones, scars, and burns. This also creates and allows for substantial risk of physical injury to the other children living in the household.

Based on these facts, request that warrant be issued for Tery'n McKnight, Susan Robinson, and Tonya McKnight for four counts of Misdemeanor Child Abuse and one count of Child Abuse Inflicting Serious Mental or Physical Injury.

Cedar's Take:

This is clearly a homicide. Why has the Mecklenburg County District Attorney not charged these three with murder or at least publicly addressed this child's death? Why did it take CMPD 3 days to obtain a search warrant? Why did nearly a week pass before the 3 were arrested. Where was the property owner, DHHS Child Protective Services and CMS Officials?

It is not clear if these are foster children or biological children.

Cedar Update:

The house where six year old Dominique Moody was found dead has apparently burned on Christmas Eve. Charlotte Firefighters arrived to find the home completely involved.

15 Year Old Dies Hit and Run Driver an Illegal Immigrant Released

Julio Cesar Xocop-Vicente Photo Courtesy MCSO

On Monday, Nov. 24, at approximately 5:44 p.m., CMPD officers responded to a hit and run with personal injury call for service in the 3500 block of Driftwood Drive.

Upon arrival, officers located a damaged 2011 Dodge Caliber and a damaged electric bicycle and its injured operator, Amber Caralexa Paris, 15. MEDIC responded to the scene and transported Ms. Paris to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The unidentified driver fled the scene on foot.

Detectives with the Major Crash Investigation Unit, officers with the DWI Task Force and Crime Scene Search (CSS) responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.

The preliminary investigation indicated that the Dodge was traveling north on Driftwood Drive approaching Winterfield Place. Both vehicles entered the four-way intersection when the front of the Dodge struck the bicycle, ejecting Ms. Paris.

Officers were able to identify the driver of the Dodge as Julio Cesar Xocop-Vicente, 40. The suspect was arrested on Nov. 25.

Mr. Xocop-Vicente is charged with the following:

Felony Hit and Run

Reckless Driving

No Operators License

On Friday, Dec. 19, Ms. Paris succumbed to her injuries sustained in the crash and was pronounced deceased.

The Intersection of Driftwood and Winterfield Place

Mr. Xocop-Vicente was previously released on a $10,000 bail. He has not be re-arrested and at this time there is no outstanding arrest warrant. The Mecklenburg DA has already dismissed the driving without a license and is currently deciding if additional death by vehicle charges are appropriate.

From the CMPD Affidavit

On November 24, 2025, at 1752 hours, officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, arrived at the intersection of Winterfield Place and Driftwood Drive, regarding a hit and run with injury. Multiple 911 calls were entered regarding a subject who fled the scene of a vehicle collision.

Officer arrived and located the juvenile victim (A.P.) with serious injuries, being treated by medical personnel on scene. An abandoned vehicle (the suspect vehicle) was located with heavy front center/windshield damage.

The vehicle was silver 2011 Dodge Caliber, VIN: 1B3CB5HA4BD204413. Bystanders reported that the driver of the vehicle was Hispanic male, and upon striking the victim, immediately fled the scene on foot.

Officers worked diligently, attempting to locate the driver. Video footage was provided by resident, which showed the listed vehicle, driven by the subject, at high-rate of speed northwest on Driftwood Drive, approaching the stop sign at Winterfield Place. The victim was operating an e-bike, northeast on Winterfield Place, approaching the stop sign at the intersection of Driftwood Drive.

Both the victim and subject failed to stop for the duly erected stop signs and collided, with the vehicle front center colliding into the victim.

The subject then exits the driver's seat and flees on foot. The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Located inside the vehicle was vehicle title, and leasing agreement for local apartment complex both with the address (3113 Girard Court, Apt 4). This address is in close proximity of the incident location. A cellphone was also located on the passenger floorboard, with the lock screen of small child.

On the lease agreement, was the name Julio Cesar Xocop-Vicente, who is known to officers for domestic violence case at the Girard Court location from 2022. Mr. Julio Cesar Xocop-Vicente is Hispanic male and the same vehicle was observed at his residence this summer via Body-Worn Camera Footage from few months ago.

An attempt to locate was completed at 3113 Girard Court, Apt 4, to serve an order for arrest against Mr. Julio Cesar Xocop-Vicente.

Officers were allowed consent to enter and blood was located on the living room mattress and sofa. Mr. Julio Cesar Xocop-Vicente was transported to the Eastway Division Office, where he was presented his Miranda Rights in Spanish, which he waived, agreeing to speak with I, (Officer C. Garcia P5508) certified Spanish-Speaking officer. At the conclusion of the interview, Mr. Julio Cesar Xocop-Vicente admitted to operating the listed vehicle on the date and time of the offense and colliding with the victim. Mr. Julio Cesar Xocop-Vicente advised he was afraid due to his immigration status and admitted torunning away from the scene.

The victim suffered two broken legs, severed artery causing internal bleeding, and serious injuries to various organs in her core. The victim was put into medically induced coma to assist with treating the injuries at this time.

Mr. Julio Cesar Xocop-Vicente is being charged with felony hit and run, reckless driving to endanger, and operating motor vehicle without license.

Cedar's Take:

The massive and sudden increase of unregulated "E-Bikes" in the hands of unlicensed inexperienced operators will present this city with the deaths of many more children unless Charlotte City Council takes action and CMPD enforces existing laws.

Illegal immigrants with no insurance and no driver's licenses add to the tragedy.

The DA's position on illegals with out driver's licenses is bizarre and is apparently founded on the misguided thinking that since they are not allowed to have a license it is not their fault.

Why was the perp not charged with no insurance, failure to stop at a stop sign?

Knowing full well that he is a flight risk why was the perp not taken into custody on Friday.

I need to give credit to Meck County Magistrate who did file notice with ICE and MCSO who held the POS until the clock ran out on December 3, 2025 at 0315 hours. ICE took a pass since he is currently not subject to a deportation order. He will be now.

3 Baby's Mommas and a Partridge in a Pear Tree

Trivius Crouch is a violent thug with apparently 3 baby's mommas. Arrested a dozen times in the last 2 years he is clearly a danger to society.

Yet on July 28, 2025 he was arrested for AWDWIKISI and he's released on a $10,000 secured bond. Meaning a thousand dollars cash and he's back on the streets.

According to CMPD:

On July 14, 2025, Officers were dispatched to call for service at 4814 Ridgeley Drive in reference to domestic violence with a deadly weapon.

Upon arrival Officer spoke to an Amanda Linder who advised she was assaulted by the suspect Trivius Crouch. Linder advised Crouch had child with her daughter Talayeh McIlwain (Baby's Momma No. 1

Linder advised she went to the door to get some belongings for her grandchild when Crouch began charging toward her daughter who was in the car. Linder advised she did not know but Crouch and her daughter had been arguing the night before. Linder advised she grabbed Crouch so he wouldn't go near her daughter, and this caused Crouch to begin attacking her.

Linder advised she was punched several times by the suspect before they began fighting in the front yard. Linder advised while they fight ensued Crouch's handgun dropped out his waistband onto the ground. Linder advised she yelled for her daughter to grab the firearm, but Crouch's other child's mother Sue (Baby's Momma No. 2) and her daughter (Talayeh McIlwain) had begun fighting one another. Linder advised at this point Crouch was able to regain control of the firearm and fired two shots into the air and one into the ground near her.

Linder advised Crouch then went to his car to grab baseball bat. Linder advised Crouch then began busting her Mercedes SUV up with the bat that was parked in the roadway. Linder advised Crouch then approached her again with the baseball bat and began striking her in the head, arms and legs. Linder advised Crouch then

pointed the firearm directly at her. Linder advised she just kept moving around but before anything else happened Crouch took off running behind the house.

More arrests for drugs, weapons, hit and run, factious tag and other charges and then in December:

CMPD Charging Document:

On December 15th, 2025, at approximately 3:36 PM, officers responded out to 2840 Old Ironside DR in reference to priority DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PHYSICAL ASSAULT call for service. Same involved the defendant and his child's mother (Baby's Momma No.3), who the defendant has been in dating relationship off and on for the past eight years.

Upon arrival, the defendant had already fled the scene in vehicle. The victim was on scene, as were several other subjects, to include witnesses to this incident.

The victim advised that the defendant unlawfully and without consent broke into the home through screen and unlocked first floor window and made his way upstairs before he began fighting with his brother, who is listed as witness on this paperwork.

Then, he forced entry into the bedroom where the victim was hiding with her sister and her small child and found her crouched down inside of the closet. The defendant proceeded to grab the victim by her hair and dragged her out of the closet before stomping on her head/ facial area. While assaulting the victim, the defendant reportedly struck victim 2, who is an infant child.

At this time, the witness mentioned above was able to pull the defendant away from the victim and separate the parties for some time. However, short time later, the defendant reportedly re-entered the bedroom, grabbed tablet and struck the victim in her head with same. Additionally, he reportedly punched the victim again, before biting at the victims hair and spitting on her.

Once on the floor, the defendant got on top of the victim and put his hands around her neck. The witness then was able to separate the parties.

The victim reported one additional re-entry in to the bedroom by the suspect, where he once again reportedly punched the victim in her face.

Two witnesses on scene confirmed what the victim told officers occurred. The witness referenced to in the paragraph above is the brother of the suspect. The second witness documented is the sister of the victim. Officers also made contact with the mother of the defendant and she advised us that the defendant does not live at this location, never has lived at this location and does not have keys to the property.

The victim sustained the following injuries as result of the assault: There was large knot located on her forehead, swelling above her left eye, bloody lip and blood around her scalp area. There were also pieces of her hair located on scene and documented via photographs. She was transported to an area hospital for further treatment/ evaluation.

During custodial interview under MIRANDA, the defendant did admit to putting hands on the victim, specifically pushing her down the stairs; however, he claimed this was in self-defense.

Officers believe there is probable cause to charge the defendant with BREAKING OR

ENTERING WITH INTENT TO TERRORIZE, ASSAULT ON FEMALE, CRIME OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND ASSAULT ON CHILD UNDER 12.

Black Man on a Saturday Night

The old racist joke about Leroy who was always getting arrested.

Judge: Now Leroy I sees here where you were arrested again this past Saturday night.

Leroy you seem like a nice man, you have a nice job, nice family, I know your wife but for the Love of God I have no idea why you are always getting arrested on Saturday nights.

Leroy: Your honor that's because you have no idea what it is like to be a black man on a Saturday night.

Brandon Jamal Hampton age 39 Photos Courtesy MCSO

On Saturday, September 27, 2025, (CMPD) Officers were dispatched to the Family Dollar located at 2100 Beatties Ford Rd. in reference to an armed robbery call for service.

Officers arrived on scene and spoke to the victim/clerk, Valeria Roseboro. Valeria stated that while she was working, she noticed black male subject that had previously been in the store and was known for stealing. Valeria stated that subject entered the store and walked directly to where the beer is kept.

Valeria stated that she confronted the subject while he was trying to walk out of the store with two sixteen packs of Modelo and one twelve pack of Milwaukee's best beer with total value of $40. Valeria stated that the subject had silver pocketknife in his hand and stated that he would stab her.

Valeria stated that the subject then walked out of the store. Valeria stated the subject walked up Beatties Ford Rd towards Catherine Simmons Ave. Valeria stated that the subject was wearing all black clothing with black hoodie.

Valeria showed Officers video from previous encounter with the subject. Detectives with the Real Time Crime Center advised over the radio that they observed subject matching the description given by Valeria, walk down Catherine Simmons Ave.

While circulating the area of Catherine Simmons Ave, Officers observed the defendant, later identified as Brandon Hampton via DMV search, walk from behind Nikkis Food Shop and then sit in chair in front of 2129 Catherine Simmons Ave. The defendant was wearing dark navy shirt with black pants. Officers made contact with the defendant, who was the same subject Valeria had shown Officers in the video and identified him as the same suspect in this incident.

The defendant was then placed under arrest. Officers located the stolen merchandise along with black hoodie in the rear of Nikkis Food Shop located at 2200 Beatties Ford Rd which is across the street from where the defendant was located. While in the back of the patrol vehicle, the defendant made spontaneous utterance of, stole that beer, but didn't have no knife.

I am seeking the charge of Robbery with Dangerous Weapon against the Defendant.

Here's where it gets really stupid. Hampton has a 2 decades long list of arrests and convictions. 9 convictions and countless arrests. He's a habitual felon. He's spent 7 years of the last 23 in prison.

Paroled from the Maury Correctional Institution on July 4, 2024 after spending nearly five years in prison he was granted an unconditional release on July 4, 2025.

3 weeks later he was arrested on July 20 for common law robbery given a $5,000.00 bail and released on July 22 via Pretrial Release cashless bail.

The he was arrested on September 27, (the above arrest) and released on a $25,000 unsecured bail on November 19th, provided he comply with certain rules and electronic monitoring.

On December 10, 2025 an order for his arrest was issued for non-compliance with the electronic monitoring, one could assume he cut it off or whatever and now his bond is set at $50,000 secured.

The trouble is Hampton doesn't understand the system and now the system has changed. Had he just stole the beer not only would he not gone to jail they'd probably let him drink the beer. But the weapon and Iryna's law changes everything.

On December 10, 2025 Judge Keith Smith again doubled Hampton's bond it is now at $100,000.00 Secured.

Where are they now Brandon Hampton

And Then There's This

Social Media is a strange place. One of the reasons CP created Meckburbia is to escape the constant threat of being shut done by liberal nut birds for my pro law enforcement position.

During the George Floyd riots in Charlotte liberal piles of "ship" continually doxed CP forcing a preemptive effort to let South Division know of CP's potential of being a victim of a swat hoax.

With that said PLEASE don't "stack up" at my front door at 3am.

My opinion and reporting about the "kettling" of "the fish" by CMPD in 2020 (Perhaps the department's best move ever in that it put a stop to the nightly madness) led to personal attacks and the threat of lawsuit by the NAACP.

What followed next was the deletion of my phone number that I'd had since high school and creation of a "ghost" ip address to mast the location and origination. (Note I'm not really in Corea Maine nor Serbia.)

Google which runs the Cedar Posts site and the Meckburbia site via "Blogger" was continually threatening to remove the CP content simply because someone's feelings were hurt.

Yesterday Google without warning removed Cedar Posts site entirely based on one such complaint. The removal has been appealed.

Meckburbia continues to be targeted and remains under the constant threat of removal.

The good news is that Elon Musk doesn't follow the same Woke madness as Meta and Alphabet and censorship in an attempt to push the left agenda is for the most part absent on "X" much to the horror of liberals everywhere.  @CedarPosts remains active vocal and unafraid.

Should Google decide to remove this site (Meckburbia) the replacement will be Barbed Wire Fences.

For now we are still here.

And one more thing "Let's be careful out there."
