October 29, 2023 From WCNC:
In the last 48 hours, CMPD said they've had a slew of calls about the man exposing himself in front of others in the public area.
Angel Kuchinski walks the greenway all the time and said it's a situation that's personal.
“I’m just concerned because there are a lot of young girls," Kuchinski said. “It’s the first thing I thought about. It happened to me when I was 10 years old and I’ll never forget it.”
CMPD said it is aware of the issue and sent WCNC Charlotte the following statement:
"CMPD’s goal is for residents and visitors in our community to be able to safely enjoy all of the parks and greenways that the city has to offer. Officers actively patrol greenway access points, parking lots and trails utilizing dual sport motorcycles, bicycles, ATVs and utility vehicles. CMPD also partners with the Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation Department to increase security and visibility with maintenance crews and park patrols.
Additionally, CMPD’s Public Affairs Office has released multiple awareness videos to the public that include tips and important safety information for greenway and park visitors. We ask that you please follow the tips that we have provided."
Sexual assaults and indecent exposure reports are not uncommon for Mecklenburg County greenways. In the past three months CMPD has addressed a slew of investigations on greenways, including two at McAlpine Creek Greenway -- one in July and one in August.
A little birdie told me that the Brass can turn on your camera any time they feel like now. You don’t even know it’s recording.
ReplyDeleteWe all knew this was coming. What the fuck Willis?
Gotta love those software upgrades..
DeleteWell if you honestly believed they can’t do that now then you’re a damn fool and probably believe the department has your best interest at heart.
DeleteGuys chill with that info on here. We are watching bad cops.
DeleteAwesome illustrative photo Cedar excellent editorial choice.
ReplyDeleteInteresting the locations and facts are really scarce. It is almost as if they don't want you to know this happened, suprised?
ReplyDeleteThat greenway has been horrible for years. The baseball stadium is bad, too. CMPD said rapes never happen around there.
ReplyDeleteShould we believe them?
I start to wonder if everything is a lie around here
ReplyDeleteSaw Arrington in public the other day and she looked like a walking zombie. Don’t let this job kill you from the inside.
ReplyDeleteWTF cedar? I didn’t give you the rights to use my picture! 😂
ReplyDeleteOne thing I always enjoy is when cops get exposed on Meckurbia and then you see their LinkedIn profile show “open to work” a few months later. The DWI cop is “excited for a new career”.
ReplyDeleteI hope it’s not the guy that laid down on the Amtrak rail tracks yesterday. So sad to hear.
ReplyDeleteA cop laid down on the tracks?
DeleteNah, I think it was a bum
DeleteIf graduate 80 people then could you imagine the impact it would be on patrol? We could have dozens of minorities transfer to special units and desk jobs. It would be like how it used to be here. The community would benefit greatly.
ReplyDeleteEveryone schemes around here for a better job. More warm bodies means a greater chance of getting a better job.
ReplyDeleteI want to know how they found 80 people in the first place? Bad economy? Restaurant Staff? Army Base?
ReplyDeleteI just watched a psych video and it showed how police officers come from poor backgrounds which leads towards mental decline in their 30s and 40s. Their poverty also leads to language decline and communication skills depression. That might be why our PD doesn’t pay very much or produce professional standards to warrant bight pay or greater respect.
ReplyDeleteHugh? Whatcha meen? I gots a good bain and get pay reel good. Boss apruves reports all time.
DeleteU funny 11am
Delete1100… there are rookies in the department that type just like that… PTO’s have to rewrite the whole report to get it approved, it’s the CMPD way.
DeleteA recruit has giving me shit at the academy since was on his 6th failed exam. I told him study harder or we don’t want you.
DeleteJust do like CFD does and pull Admin positions from Operations. Then, don’t back fill those positions causing short staffing, a bunch of hirebacks and OT. They can’t hire enough to fill the vacant positions. If you ask the Chief, he says they’re fully staffed. There is a HUGE difference between “allocated positions” and “minimum staffing.” He’s using the minimum staffing as “fully staffed” which should be the “allocated positions.” They also used to overhire 12-16 positions over the allocated positions to account for retirements. This has been a very high year for retirements at CFD. Enough got fed up with Command Staff pissing on their legs and told it was raining.
ReplyDelete^^^Cedar erase this man’s comments! They are untrue and hurtful.
DeleteIt is ABSOLUTE FACTS! Ask the Union, they’ll confirm the statement as completely correct and factual. They’ll even enlighten you into other facts about misinformation, mismanagement, retaliation, and other fun facts. Quit drinking the Kool-aid they’re feeding you. It’s probably in the case of apples and oranges every station will be getting soon.
DeleteBottom line..if you call 911 then someone will show up. That’s all that matters to our leadership.
ReplyDeleteCEDAR!! Are you taking selfies again?? Did ya get a new tripod for your birthday? :-)
ReplyDeleteI also don’t want to hear a word from those who re-elected the City Council. You got what you wanted…..Atlanta.
ReplyDeleteFOP endorsed Dimple. She got elected, didn’t she?
DeleteI was talking to a black girl yesterday about Atlanta. Even she was like..ughhhhhh. She heard bad things and it’s coming to Charlotte.
DeleteSo Charlotte now employs “city embassidors” to work around uptown instead of cops.
ReplyDeleteWho cares, frees everyone up to do actual police work, let them deal with the bums, you go stop a car and take someone to jail
ReplyDeleteAll I care about is what brass are they punishing in the camera room now?
ReplyDeleteThe bike unit is back in action and ready to dodge calls and check on the parks.
