Charlotte's 101st Homicide Taking Out The Trash

On Thursday November 28th Just before 6:30 p.m. CMPD Officers responded to a call for a welfare check in the 2300 block of West Boulevard. When Officers arrived they located a male subject who was unresponsive.

Medic transported the male to Atrium Main where they were pronounced deceased.

At first Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit classified this incident only as a death investigation.

Upon review of the physical evidence at the scene this case was determined to be a homicide.

The victim in this case was later identified as Demond Kente Dixon, 44 and victim’s family has was notified of his death.

According to CMPD, Belton Lamont Platt, 38, was identified as a person of interest shortly after Officers arrived on scene.

Mr. Platt was transported voluntarily to the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) in Uptown to speak to detectives. At the conclusion of the interview, Mr. Platt was transferred into the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and charged with Murder.

Dixon was a well known felon, thief and habitual criminal with more than 2 dozen convictions and more arrests than are worth taking the time to count.

Platt is also a convicted felon having just served 4 years for AWDWISI and having been released from prison this past July.

Platt has a history of arrests and convictions for weapons, drugs and violent crimes. His life is just one long rap sheet with crimes beginning with trying to burn down a school in 2002 to felon with a gun in in 2006.

Props to CMPD for taking out the trash. Eyes are now on Meck County DA Merriweather to complete the mission.

Once again proof that incarceration saves lives.

  1. Cedar, your writing is full of typos and poor grammar. Don’t let these liberals show you up in the journalism category. I love you.

    2. 1224am,,

The vast majority of our officers at HPD are in active field roles and have utilized their handcuffs within the past 3 months. That cannot be said about your department in most cases, although there are some exceptions. We do not employ officer or supervisors that steal from churches or drug dealers.

    3. Aw. Allied Barton is mad lol it’s okay to admit you’re scared and needed to go live a life of zone checks

    4. Zone checks…lol..someone has been around for a while. Those were eliminated from the computer to prevent call dodgers from stealing paychecks. I worked with coworker that zone checked our PVA at the office for 4 hours. We started getting busy and she 42ed for the day. SmH she is a detective now.

    5. There are some good people at every office and PD. The politics and sex ruin everything around here. It’s funny when the crazy stuff gets exposed like Lake Wylie Sheriffs Office. 8 coworkers fucking the same female supervisor. Good stuff.

    6. Charlotte could do a better job where they invest in talent, but liberal politics drive decisions and create the mess we call work. It’s a paycheck and nothing more.

    7. 1700 agreed. Prime example is the fat kid who’s allowed to email the chief how his feelings are hurt and PT is mean then get two decent officers reprimanded for doing their job lol

    8. 1322, I would never work at your place after the Wes Kerrick debacle.

    9. If you still work at CMPD then you really can't bitch about the work environment. Or you can; but no one cares.

    12. What always scared me is how people can hide in an office for 15 years and still get promotions. You don’t get fat by working hard.

    13. 1009hrs, that is one of the reasons no one do any work around here. Having a good work ethic means nothing at CMPD. Come in, and collect that paycheck until you get promoted. Or the other option is to come in work hard and get beat down by the managers and burned out in two to three years then they will label you disgruntle.

  3. Death penalty sure would save us taxpayers a lot of money. We could then spend those funds on people who really needed help like in Western NC.

    1. Death penalty is actually more expensive than life sentences since it’s not a fast process.

    2. How many crappy Jew lawyers milk the state on endless appeals for the most inhuman trash ever? Instead we spend more than you make every year licking them up in high security facilities, end of life health care free. And the lawyers still take in a ton. Looking at you David Rudolf.
Rae Carruth and Keenan Gay walk free in Charlotte today after both killed people due to him.
