Bakersfield California resident Renee Jewel Ferrari was arrested by CMPD at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CDIA) just before Christmas last year.
CMPD K-9 Officer alerted to narcotics and Mr. Ferrari was questioned when she retrieved the suitcase from baggage claim.
She was charged two counts of trafficking cocaine and and two counts of trafficking marijuana.

She is remains in the Mecklenburg County Jail under a $500,000 bond reduced from $1 million set upon her arrest.
According to sources Ferrari was in possession of more than 20 pounds of Marijuana and nearly 6 pounds of Cocaine at the time of her arrest.
And that's a suitcase full of trouble that she's accused of transporting to Charlotte from California.
But this is not her first rodeo - back in 2021 Renee J. Ferrari and another individual both of Bakersfield, California, were charged April 20 with two counts each of money laundering, all Class 1 felonies in Edwardsville Illinois.
According to court documents, on April 19, 2021 the pair were found to be in possession of $179,462 in cash, from criminal activity.
The two were operating a motor vehicle while traveling through Madison County, and inside the vehicle was $178,600 in cash in vacuum-sealed bags in a secret compartment; and $862 in a purse.
Bail was set at $100,000 each.
No word on the outcome of those charges.
Renee Ferrari remains behind bars in Mecklenburg County. A May scheduling conference was delayed until August 8, 2025.
