The Gastonia resident is charged as follows:
ATTEMPTED FIRST DEGREE MURDER
ASSAULT LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER RESULTIING IN SERIOUS INJURY

AWDW INTENT TO KILL

Yet what happens to him in Mecklenburg County will be nothing like Johnston, Wake and Cabarrus Counties were his failure to appear on drug, weapons and traffic charges have cost bail bondmen thousands.
Given Mecklenburg DA's in ability to remove violent felons from society he'll only have a short stay before he's released. Maybe this time the impoten DA and spineless Judges will see things differently?
Finally, Cedar Posts will not release the the name of the Officer until he has been released from the hospital or his name is made public by the CMPD PIO, but offer prayers for a full recovery.
Update:
According to sources the incident began with Briston attacking Aniyah Simone Porter by "grabbing her face", Then when the Officer arrived the altercation escalated. Bristow who only stands 5'4'' weighing just 125 pounds managed to either cause the Officer's weapon to discharge or somehow took the Officer's weapon and managed to take a shot striking the Officer in the leg.
CMPD Officers in the area were able to quickly spot the suspect and take him into custody.
UPDATE:
This was really close, here's the official court document edited with the Officer's name redacted.
