CMPD Officer Arrested

Sometimes you just got to shake your head. I know dozens of Officers. I have family with CMPD and a nephew who is a deputy chief in Charleston. I don't know any law enforcement officer who would find themselves in this sort of mess.

But here we are, we have a CMPD Officer who took it upon herself to threaten a neighbor, not just with violence but personal retribution.

Charlotte, N.C. – (Wednesday, July 30, 2025) – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD) Freedom Division is conducting a criminal investigation that resulted in a charge of Communicating Threats against CMPD Officer Jazmin Featherstone.

On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, shortly after 7 p.m., officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon (No Injury) call for service in the Freedom Division. The 911 caller reported being threatened by a female. The victim also stated that a family member of the female pointed a firearm at her and made additional threats.

All parties involved were voluntarily interviewed by detectives at the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) at 601 E. Trade St. At the conclusion of interviews, the victim pursued criminal charges with the Mecklenburg County Magistrate. A criminal summons was issued for Communicating Threats against Officer Featherstone. A warrant was also issued for Shawn Marie Rice, 54, for Assault by Pointing a Gun, Damage to Property and Communicating Threats.

CMPD’s Internal Affairs Division is conducting a simultaneous investigation. Officer Featherstone is currently on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of the internal investigation.

Officer Featherstone was off duty when the incident occurred.

The arrest report:

On or about the date of offense shown and in the county named above the defendant unlawfully and willfully did threaten to physically injure the person of LEISA HILL,

The threat was communicated to LEISA HILL ORALLY BY STATING THAT SHE WAS GOING TO FUCK HER UP AND REVEAL PERSONAL INFORMATION BECAUSE SHE IS THE POLICE and the threat was made in a manner and under circumstances which would cause a reasonable person to believe that the threat was likely to be carried out and the person threatened believed that the threat would be carried out.

Aso arrested in this madness is Shawn Marie Rice who also threaten to "Fuck Up" the victim. Then proceeded to point a weapon at the victim and destroy a mailbox.

  1. Does anyone out there think that lowering the standards for officers is going to lead for more of the same type of problems?Once the bar is lowered, problems follow.

    1. 924 you sound like you living in 2010. No standards exist besides double standards.

  2. Proud mama.
This is another sign of the city’s decline. Soon police will start protecting relatives and their associates. Ooops! Already there.

  3. I liked Jaz and it’s sad she got drawn into this situation. This shows that the people at the LEC don’t care about anyone. They will post about officer support and then arrest a female cop for talking trash.

  4. Notice Cedar doesn't post about white cops getting busted just the black ones.

  5. The moment she added Because she is the POLICE she was done. Her only option is to resign and hope Taylor Security has some openings over at WalMart.

  6. I watched on camera a short female cop(in uniform) attack a citizen and call her profanity, and she had to get pulled away. This situation is nothing and internal targeting.

  9. Why does it say she was arrested in one part of this “article” then say a criminal summons was issued?

    1. Criminal Summons which is basically the same as arrested and why there is not a MCSO mugshot.

    2. Because there never is a mugshot with criminal summons dipshit. Same as a citation. It’s a way to clear the case. Obviously you are NOT an officer

    3. Nice spin, arrest the civilian but make the victim go downtown and take out a warrant aka criminal summons against the cop. Double standard for sure.

    4. Well waving and pointing a gun is a little more severe than some choice words.

  10. Cedar most certainly does post about white cops getting busted. You’re a moron. The SWAT guy was white. The steak stealing cop was white. Wtf wrong with you people. Go somewhere else not everyone is racist

  12. One thing I know is CMPD never tells the truth about things. They said Vicki was “an innovative leader” and they said swat guy “was drunk at the wheel” while sleeping in a parked car.

This story is probably all false.

  15. Believe the narrative? Like when the citizen shot the officer in her ankle under her holster, and everyone shot him in sympathy fire?

  16. She's not Black she's mixed race and that means beyond ugly she's nasty like a Black Girl and has a sense of entitlement like a white chick. Just can't get any worse.

  20. Whats up with the unpaid admin leave guy from Westover? Did he get involved in a sexual assault investigation?

    1. 95d a rookie at the academy. He's telling people he's on admin leave because he "hit a rookie too hard in redman". Lt in Westover said the female isn't pressing charges so sounds like cmpd will just sweep it under the rug.

  21. On a serious note, I called 911 this week and was on hold for 5 mins. They kept playing a Spanish message to me on repeat .

    Please do better

  22. 3 officers on unpaid leave for various reasons in addition to this freak yet not one of them is the subject of a press release other than Featherstone. Which means DV and SA are apparently no big deal at CMPD

  25. Stephens was weak on crime, but he knew most officers by first names. Yes, morale was better then
